Yesterday I read a really interesting article  and it shows us the comparison between the condition of New York and Honsu Island in this snowy time. The condition in New York is sure bad, but compared to Honsu, wow I am shocked. Here are the pictures of snow in Honsu Island in the article and just like the article said it is a real snow and not photoshopped.

Val
d'Aosta handles wine classification differently from almost any other region of
Italy. There is a single DOC zone which englobes the entire region. Most of the
thirteen wine styles are identified by grape variety. The reds are dry but the
whites may be dry or sweet, still, frizzy, or sparkling. However, little of the
local wine is exported to North America. After all, there are a mere 385 acres
(about 155 hectares) of vineyards in the entire Val d'Aosta DOC that are
exploited by thousands of growers.



Major white grape varieties include
the local Blanc de Morgex and Petite Arvine (popular in Switzerland.
International varieties include Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. Local red varieties
include Petit Rouge, Picotendro (called Nebbiolo in neighboring Piedmont),
Premetta, and Fumin. International red varieties include Gamay, Pinot Noir,
Grenache, and Syrah. For a tiny volume there are lots of grape varieties.




Companies selling regional wine tours include di Vino Tours, Italian
Wine Holidays, and Wine Tour Italia. Regional wineries that accept visits
include Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle in Morgex and Societa
Agricola Les Cretes in Aymavilles. Contact the Institut Agricole Régional in
Aosta and Viticulteurs Encaveurs Vallee d'Aoste in Quart for information about
visiting other wine producers. A few words of warning are in order. Make sure to
verify ahead of time for opening hours and whether English is spoken. Some of
these places may charge admission; others may expect you to buy some of their
products.

The Great Falls "diamond in the rough"

The Great Falls of the Passaic River, located just 12 miles from New York City in the city of Paterson, New Jersey, is a not only spectacular natural attraction in the nation’s most populous state, it also gained historical significance in the early stages of the American industrial Revolution by supplying water power to the nation’s first manufacturing center. The falls now 77 feet high, emerged approximately 13,000 years ago the end of the ice age. As the glaciers ice melted, the Passaic River swelled and rerouted it's way around the north end of the Watchung Mountains, carving out the spectacular falls from the basalt base.
Early habitation of the surrounding falls began with the native Lenape Indians, followed by Dutch settlers in the in the 17th century.

For most people, Spring brings an end to the extremes of mother nature, but to others, it means that it is only beginning. The moist, warm air of Spring is prime fodder for tornadoes, which occur more frequently in the United States than anywhere else on Earth.
The recent activity in what is known as "Tornado Alley" has brought many to wonder at the destructive force of tornadoes. So far, 100 homes and 40 businesses have been destroyed in Oklahoma, with upwards of 130 homes damaged. Damage is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars.

Niagara Falls seems to be the Canadian attraction and one of the most notorious waterfalls on the Earth. Canada receives more than 20 millions of tourists annually and the most of them get to Niagara Falls. Niagara river connects two of the Great Lakes - Ontario and Eri and is a part of the border between Canada and USA. The waterfall is situated approximately in the middle of the river.
Waterfall consists of two parts - the American and the Canadian. They are separated by the Goat Island. Canadian part is more known. It is 792 wide and about 50 meters high. American part is much more narrow - about 300 meters. The height is approximately the same.

The basics behind waterfalls are the river comes to a point at the end of the high elevation of land and there is no where else for the water to go other than over the edge of the high point. At the base of the waterfall is layer of very hard rock and beneath that layer is a softer rock, with the pressure of the water coming down over the fall onto the rock it pushes the hard layer down and creates the pool where the water flows into. Over time the waterfall will recede back on itself and this creates what is known as a canyon or a gorge and as time goes by this canyon will get deeper into the underside of the waterfall. There are 10 different classes of waterfall which range from the Class 10 with waterfalls such as Niagara Falls and Khone Falls, Class 9 such as Victoria Falls and down, this classification of the waterfalls is done by the volume of water present on the falls and is a grading system to size the falls.
