Frank Gehry designed the Weisman Museum at the University of Minnesota
in Twin Cities Minnesota. The typically metal building strategically
places windows which overlook the Mississippi river and downtown
Minneapolis. It was completed in 1993.The broken up stainless steel facades seem to draw inspiration from the
rocky banks of the river. The metal meets terra cotta colored brick on
the city side to echo the history of the city. This interpretation of
the natural and built environment is appropriate for the modern art
inside.
